Somu Veerraju demands quality food for women, kids
BJP MLC Somu Veerraju alleged the state government is supplying food made of low quality rice and red gram to the women and children through the anganwadi centres.
Vijayawada: BJP MLC Somu Veerraju alleged the state government is supplying food made of low quality rice and red gram to the women and children through the anganwadi centres.
He alleged the Anganwadi workers and employees unions associated with Left parties are collecting money from the anganwadi centres and that is the reason why these unions not raising the important issues on low quality food supplied by the government.
He made these remarks at the media point at the transit Assembly at Velagapudi on Wednesday. He insisted that the government to take steps to ensure quality food from the Anganwadi centres. Referring to belt shops being run in the State, he said the belt shops are doing brisk of Rs.30 crore every day and it amounted to Rs 900 crore every month and more than Rs.10,000 crore every year.
He wondered why the government is insisting on the revenue on the sale of liquor. He said the Chief Minister is trying to make AP free from corruption and important issues like belt shops are going on unabated in the state.
