​Vijayawada: As per the action plan evolved by the State government to uplift the unemployed Scheduled Caste youth, the government would distribute 250 four-wheelers to help them secure self-employment, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Chief Minister formally launched distribution of the vehicles at his office at the temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi on Wednesday. He said all the vehicles would be distributed through SC Corporation to the beneficiaries on April 14 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr B R Ambedkar.

The Chief Minister said that the beneficiaries would get 125 Innova cars and 125 Tata Ace commercial vehicles.

Naidu said each Innova car which would cost Rs 20 lakh, is being provided at a cost of Rs 15 lakh to the beneficiaries. The state government is providing a subsidy of Rs 7 lakh. With the help of Jio tag, vehicles would be monitored, the CM added.

Social Welfare Minister R Kishore Babu said that the beneficiaries from all the 13 districts were selected by draw.

The company accepted to bear the excise tax, said SC Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao.
