Amaravati: YSRCP MLAs upped the ante with their attack against TDP leaders, agriculture minister Prathipati Pulla Rao in particular. With regard to the family members of the minister allegedly buying AgriGold lands, the MLAs said that they are ready to prove the allegations YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, displayed photocopy of pattadar pass book of Parthipati Venkayamma wife of the minister, at media point in Assembly on Friday.

The MLA maintained that despite the state government introducing computerised pass books from 2014, the minister created manual pass book in January 2015. “The minister purchased AgriGold land after the police booked case against the management,” he stated. Chevireddy declared that the YSRCP is ready to face any investigation on the claims.

Alleging that the government was not ready to face judicial enquiry, he dared Pulla Rao to resign and prove his innocence. Launching a scathing attack against Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Chevireddy accused that Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy is not given mike. “Speaker is following directions of the ruling party leaders and is not giving chance to Jagan to speak in the Assembly,” he stated.

Nagari MLA RK Roja charged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with humiliating SC, ST, BC and Minority leaders. She stated that their party leader will not only accept challenge of minister Pulla Rao but also other leaders. “The government is not ready to debate on farmers’ problems and AgriGold scam. They are wasting time by throwing blame against Opposition MLAs,” she commented.

MLAs Tippa Reddy and Narayana Swamy also echoed the same and said that the ruling party MLAs are wasting time, while Srikanth Reddy accused Speaker of discrimination against YSRCP legislators. Meanwhile, Congress party floor leader in Council C Ramachandraiah demanded that the government should hand over the AgriGold case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

“AgriGold institutions had huge assets which are more than the deposits. In this situation government would follow the Parliamentary Act and sold the assets and return the customers depots,” he suggested.
