Reddy advises Naidu to resign and do private settlements

Vijayawada: The Congress party has demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should resign for failing to maintain law and order in the state. Coming down heavily on the Chief Minister, PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy asked the former to continue doing settlements and ‘panchayats’ after stepping down. “Naidu is allowing party men to attack officials and bureaucrats,” he alleged.

Addressing a press conference, here on Monday, Raghuveera lambasted the Chief Minister for not maintaining peaceful atmosphere in government offices. “The Chief Minister is fanning fear in the minds of officials,” he charged and condemned the attack on transport commissioner by TDP MP, MLC and MLA.

Reddy was sarcastic when he advised Naidu to create a separate department so that he could make private settlements. He accused the Chief Minister of having sole agenda of rooting out democracy and accordingly he had been watering down it in a systematic manner. “It was high time he quit the post and spread ‘rule of goons’,” he chided.

He wondered the conduct of Assembly session without decency. “Both the ruling and Opposition parties are indulging in questioning wealth of each other amassed by robbing people. Important issues like drought were never attempted during the ongoing budget session,” he criticised. Referring to AgriGold issue, the PCC chief said that the government was trying to divert attention from the crime wherein 32 lakh people were suffering. “Both the ruling and opposition parties were trying to settle their scores without giving priority to issues that concern with people,” he lamented.
