The TTD Trust Board has approved Rs 86 crore worth developmental works during its board meeting out of which Rs 53 crore is towards house-keeping and management services at Tirumala.

Tirupati: The TTD Trust Board has approved Rs 86 crore worth developmental works during its board meeting out of which Rs 53 crore is towards house-keeping and management services at Tirumala. The board members under the chairmanship of Dr Ch Krishnamurthy met at Tirumala on Monday and passed several resolutions.
The board decided to allocate Rs 39 crore towards the construction of Vakulamata Rest House in Tirumala with a spacious parking facility and 270 rooms. Rs 3.10 crore was earmarked for the construction of two-storeyed Kalyana Mandapam at Appalayagunta; Rs 2.85 crore allocated for purchase of 1,790 tonnes of fodder to cattle and Rs 2.84 crore to purchase 8,600 tonnes of maize grass for SV Goshala. Here after, required quantity of various ingredients will be procured through e-tender and e–auction for every two months. For purchasing of four lakh kilos of bengal gram at kilo Rs 65.51, an amount of Rs 2.62 crore was sanctioned. An amount of Rs 6.27 crore was sanctioned for procurement of 15.30 lakh kilos of Sona Masuri rice at Rs 41 per kilo.
The TTD earned revenue of Rs 4.78 crore in January and Rs 8.13 crore in February during the e-auction of human hair in 2017. To a question on the irregularities in donor quota, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said that, already they have stopped issuing of physical passbooks for donors. The TTD is not compromising on transparency in any matter, he assured.
He stated that a system to cater the better services to donors is already in place and it is being strengthened further. Whoever commits a mistake they have to face severe action, he clarified. The EO also said that Kalyana Mahotshavam will be held at Vontimitta in Kadapa district on April 10 in which Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be attending.
