Visakhapatnam: A three-member women’s team comprising Meenakshi Arvind (45), Priya Rajpal (55) and Mookambika Rathinam (38), all Rotarians have set out for a 70-day adventure trip covering 24 countries to mark the 70th year of Independence spreading the Rotary India Literacy Mission, Rotary Happy School and women empowerment initiatives.

Rotary International District Governor nominee G Viswanath flagged off the vehicle on the Waltair Club premises on Wednesday. The team would cover Manipur, Myanmar, China, Kyrgzstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Serbia, Germany, France, Netherlands and reach the United Kingdom.

This is the longest literacy drive planned with number of events across the countries to encourage women literacy and to promote Rotary programmes-TEACH (Teacher support, e-learning, Adult literacy, Child development and Happy School). Rotary Club Visakha Port City president V V Narayana Rao and club representatives K S Narayana, Bhogeswara Rao and G S Raju were present when the team has left.
