A man who wanted to give company to a group of friends in a bar, ended up in hospital after consuming a cool drink which contained a decomposed lizard. 

Chirala: A man who wanted to give company to a group of friends in a bar, ended up in hospital after consuming a cool drink which contained a decomposed lizard.

One, Doppalapudi Anvesh Prasad aged about 35 years and native of Chirala, went to a local bar to meet his friends on Wednesday afternoon.

Being a non-alcoholic, he ordered a cool drink in the bar and started consuming it. After just two sips, his throat started burning and he vomited and fell unconscious. His friends observed that there was a decomposed lizard and fungus in the cool drink bottle.

They also observed that the cool drink was manufactured about a year ago and the last date for its consumption expired in 2016.

They shifted Prasad to the government hospital after collecting the cool drink bottle.The doctors announced that he is out of danger and confirmed that the lumps in the bottle were decomposed parts of lizard.

However, no complaint was registered with the police or Food Safety officials against the bar.
