New ED for Tobacco Board takes charge

Guntur: T Venkatesh took over the charge as executive director of Tobacco Board here on Thursday. Earlier, he worked as the chief electoral officer in Uttar Prades. He belongs to 1988 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. Speaking to The Hans India, he said that he would try to get a better price to tobacco and solve their problems.

Tobacco Board officials briefed about board activities and ongoing tobacco auctions in the state. Later, he held a meeting with the officials in the Tobacco Board. Later, Indian Tobacco Association leaders, tobacco exporters called on him.
