Kadapa: Several TDP leaders are aspiring for Ministerial berth from the district as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu likely to take up cabinet reshuffle on April 2. A senior party leader from the district told The Hans India that the Chief Minister might induct Jammalamadugu MLA Devagudi Adinarayana Reddy into the cabinet as he was instrumental for TDP securing MLC seat under local bodies’ quota despite TDP not having enough number of ZPTCs, MPTCs, corporators and councillors to win the seat.

He opined that Devagudi’s induction into the cabinet will strengthen the TDP in the district. However, some party leaders said that the Chief Minister will not take such drastic decision. Devagudi’s induction into the cabinet will attract the anti-defection law as he had won on YSRCP ticket.

Even MLC P Ravindranath Reddy popularly known as B Tech Ravi is also reportedly expecting a nominated post in the government. A contractor turned politician B Tech Ravi is close associate of HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh. In the recent MLC elections, Ravi had defeated YSRCP nominee YS Vivekananda Reddy with a margin of 23 votes.

According to party sources, Chandrababu had reluctantly gave MLC ticket to Ravi as Ganta and Ramesh exerted pressure on him. TDP leader P Veera Reddy, follower of Ravi, said that the Chief Minister must give a nominated post to MLC Ravi if party wants to stop YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s family domination in Pulivendula Assembly constituency. He told The Hans India that the TDP activists in Pulivendula segment are facing threats from the YSRCP leaders.
