Chittoor: YSRCP district convenor J Srinivasulu alleged that the TDP government has failed to resolve city people’s woes in its two-and-a-half year rule. The YSRCP organised a rally here on Thursday and raised slogans against the TDP government for not fulfiling basic needs of residents.

Speaking to the media, Srinivasulu accused the ruling municipal council members for taking decisions with an intention to gain political mileage but not in the interests of people. He found fault with the municipal council led by TDP for demolishing Indian Red Cross Society building and 60-year-old Gandhi Statue. The YSRCP leader slammed the TDP government for not providing adequate drinking water to city residents. Srinivasulu said that YSRCP has taken a pledge to supply drinking water to the residents in the ensuing summer without depending on civic body.

He recalled that he supplied potable water through his own tankers for several years to Chittoor city. The YSRCP leader made an appeal to the voters of 38th division to teach a befitting lesson to the TDP in the ensuing by-election. “There is no development in the district for the last 10 years despite Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is representing the district,” he rued. YSRCP district secretary Purushottam Reddy, who is also the YSRCP contestant from 38th division also spoke.
