386 liquor shops allotted through draw of lots 32.92 cr collected
Visakhapatnam: District Collector Pravin Kumar said that 386 liquor shops were allotted through draw of lots and an amount of Rs 32.92 crore was collected through application fee and registration.
Visakhapatnam: District Collector Pravin Kumar said that 386 liquor shops were allotted through draw of lots and an amount of Rs 32.92 crore was collected through application fee and registration. The draw of lots was held at Andhra University Convocation Hall in Andhra University campus on Friday in the presence of Additional Joint Collector DV Reddy, deputy commissioner of prohibition and excise Ch Gopalakrishna, officials and the prospective vendors.
The Collector said of the Rs 32.92 crore, Rs 2.49 crore was collected through the application fee and the remaining from registration. The lottery was held for both urban and rural areas.Notification was issued for 401 shops and 5,370 applications were submitted by the vendors.
The Collector said of them 374 applications were rejected during the scrutiny. The lottery was conducted for 4, 996 shops. There were no applications for five shops and 10 applicants failed to appear at the draw.
