Kakinada: The truck operators for the second day on Friday, kept the trucks off the road in Kakinada area and in East Godavari with a charter of demands. These include revision of RTA tax enhanced recently, single permit for AP and Telangana for movement of vehicles, revision of toll tax enhanced sharply and other demands.

Acceding to Kakinada Area Truck Operators Association president Rajana Surya Prakash all the 2,500 trucks in Kakinada area and the 12,000 in the distinct were confined to truck stands at various places .

He said on Friday that they are prepared for negotiations if the authorities invite them. When contacted, the Kakinada Area Provision and General Merchants Association President Boda Ravi Kumar said that the retailers have sufficient stocks of pulses, rice, oils and other essentials and there is no shortage as on the second day of truck operators strike.
