Rajamahendravaram: Advocates of Rajamahendravaram district court boycotted duties on Friday demanding withdrawal of Advocates (Amendment) bill-2017 which was recommended by the Law Commission to the Indian government. They have staged dharna in front of the district court and shouted slogans.

Speaking on the occasion, AP Bar Council member and Rajamahendravaram Bar Association president Muppalla Subba Rao said that the rights and safety of advocates will be in danger if Advocates (Amendment) bill recommended by the Law commission was passed and added that advocates will not able to take up the cases which come on their way. He urged MPs to oppose this anti-advocates bill.

He informed that a meeting will be held with all bar council members in the country, representatives of High Court and bar associations at the Bar Council of India on April 8 where an action plan will be chalked out.

He maintained that bar association representatives of the concerned area will submit memorandum to Parliament members appealing them to reject Advocates (Amendment) bill which is undemocratic.

He further said that Bar Council of India has resolved to submit memorandums to the President, Prime Minister and other union ministers.
