Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan warned the civic officials that he will file criminal cases under sections 408 and 409 sections if they fail to ensure good sanitation in the city limits. He said garbage was seen scattered at every nook and corner in the city. Why the situation is being seen despite of engaging sufficient staff for cleaning the garbage from the localities.

He said that he is not going to tolerate the negligence of the staff responsible for their failure in ensuring good sanitation. He held a meeting on poor sanitation in the city with the civic officials at Collector Conference Hall on Saturday.Speaking on the occasion,

he said several complaints are being received from the public on poor sanitation in the localities and asked the staff to explain the reason behind the poor state of affairs in the city limits. If the staff doesn’t mend their ways and ensure good sanitation, they would be taken to task without any explanation, he stated.

He also warned the civic staff to stop enrolling false muster to the contractors as several complaints have been received in that case too. He ordered the civic staff to prepare a list of sanitation works to be taken up area- wise and set them right.
Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Babu, sanitation supervisors, sanitary inspectors, health officers and environment department engineers were present in the meeting.
