Inclusion of Sri City in NUDA opposed
A round-table conference was organised under the banner Rayalaseema Students Union (RSU) here on Saturday, against the ‘conspiracy to keep the Sri City away from Rayalaseema.’

Rayalaseema Intellectual Forum convenor M Purushotham Reddy, Rayalaseema Porata Samithi convenor P Naveen Kumar Reddy, senior journalist P Yerram Reddy, RSU state president Ravi Sankar Reddy and leaders of various student wings took part in the round-table meeting. The speakers opposed the state government’s unilateral decision to include the Sri City in Nellore Urban Development Authority (NUDA).
They said that Sri City is their legitimate right of Rayalaseema region and it should not be included in NUDA. They stated that Mannavaram and Sri City were the two major projects were sanctioned to Chittoor district by UPA regime. Sri City was the result of the sacrifice made by many farmers.
The government has acquired 7000 acres of fertile lands for the Special Economic (SEZ). Now, there are around 100 industries in Sri City and about 60 were in the pipeline.The leaders demanded inclusion of Sri City in Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA). It was decided to organize a dharna at municipal corporation office on Monday.
