The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted Joint Entrance Examination-Mains (JEE) examination at 46 centres in the city on Sunday.

Vijayawada: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted Joint Entrance Examination-Mains (JEE) examination at 46 centres in the city on Sunday.

As many as 24,603 students attended the examination. Out of 25,133 students applied for Paper I, 503 students appeared. The examination was started at 9.30 am. The qualified students would join B Tech and BE.In all, 5,345 students attended for Paper II examination. Out of 6,265 applied for the exam, 920 students were absent.

The examination was started at 2 pm. The qualified students would join B Arch.Strict rules were framed for the conduct of the examination. The authorities implemented one minute late rule. To avoid mischief, students were allowed one hour before the commencement of examination.

The students were not allowed to take cell phones, watches and electronic gadgets inside the examination hall. There was heavy rush at all centres. The APSRTC operated special buses for the convenience of the students.
