Visakhapatnam: The local office of ACB produced the tainted official Maley Gangadharam, engineer-in-chief (administration) of roads and buildings department in state government for possessing Rs 100 crore disproportionate assets before ACB court in the city on Sunday.

Gangadharam was brought to Vizag from Hyderabad in the morning. DSP of ACB (Visakha Urban) K Ramakrishna Prasad said that the ACB has found wealth in his possession and his relatives which he accumulated over the last 10 years. He said the officials will open five lockers in Hyderabad and two in Vizag city on Monday. Prasad said the registration value of the seized properties amassed by Gangadharam was around Rs 8.5 crore, but the assets value would be in excess of Rs100 crore as per market rates.

The ACB has been chalking out plans to be registering cases against the Benami holders of the tainted officer under the Benami Act as the ACB officials have identified the assets of Gangadharam in some companies in the name of benamies. The DSP said that they will conduct searches at the house and office of the tainted officer in Vijayawada on Monday.
