The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Kodandarama Swamy temple came to a grand close with the observance of the auspicious ‘Chakrasnanam’ at Kapilatheertam temple tank, here on Sunday.The deities of Lord Sri Rama, goddess Sita and Sri Lakshmana Swamy, along with the Sri Sudarshana Chakrathalwar were taken for a holy dip in the temple tank.

Tirupati: The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Kodandarama Swamy temple came to a grand close with the observance of the auspicious ‘Chakrasnanam’ at Kapilatheertam temple tank, here on Sunday.The deities of Lord Sri Rama, goddess Sita and Sri Lakshmana Swamy, along with the Sri Sudarshana Chakrathalwar were taken for a holy dip in the temple tank.

Hundreds of devotees followed suit as the priests immersed the ‘holy disc’ into the waters of the pushkarni, as part of the immersion ceremony, amidst vedic chants. Earlier, Snapana Tirumanjanam (celestial bath) was accorded to the deities with religious fervour.

Later in the evening, DwajaAvarohanam was performed marking the conclusion of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of the temple.

Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Temple Dy EO Munilakshmi, AC VSO Sivakumar Reddy, EE Jagadeswara Reddy, Superintendent Uma Maheswara Reddy, Temple Inspectors Sesha Reddy Temple Archaka Nandu Swamy and a large number of devotees took part.
