Kurnool: At last the dream of Bhuma’s family has come true with the swearing in of Bhuma Akhila Priya the present MLA of Allagadda as minister. It would be an indelible memory for Akhila as she was given the Minister ship on her birthday on Sunday. She has created a bench mark in the history of Kurnool as the youngest woman minister ever.

Around 10 MLAs have represented Allagadda in 16 elections. None of them became ministers

For attending the swearing in program on Sunday at Amaravati, Akhila accompanied by her near and dear rushed to the capital on Saturday from Allagadda.Akhila Priya was first elected as MLA to Allagadda in 2017 after the demise of her mother Bhuma Shoba Nagi Reddy in a car tragedy.

Chinta Pedda Thimma Reddy was the first MLA elected to Allagadda constituency. At that time Allagadda was a part in Sirivella constituency. In the later stage around 10 MLAs have represented the constituency in 16 elections. Unfortunately none of them were given the ministership whereas SV Subba Reddy and Nadendla Bhaskar Rao have worked under the Minister ship for a period of one month.

On two occasions, hopes prevailed that Bhuma Shoba Nagi Reddy would be given the post, once in 1997 and the other in 1999 but it did not happen. Even Bhuma Nagi Reddy too expected a similar situation in 1994. In case of Gangula Pratap Reddy an MLA from Congress Party, he too hoped of getting the coveted slot in 2004 but was disappointed.

Akila Priya’s grandparent SV Subba Reddy (Bhuma Shoba Nagi Reddy’s father) was elected as minister but represented from Pathikonda though he is native of Allagadda. With her being sworn in as minister the people of Allagadda are expecting a lot from her that their constituency would prosper.

They are speaking out that their hard days would vanish with completion of pending works of Telugu Ganga canals, if the minister would intervene into the matter. Even the neglected, sacred Ahobilam temple would be developed on par with other temples in the state. Several other people are dreaming that they would be sanctioned houses.

The housing department has neglected sanctioning of houses to Allagadda. So far around 5000 people have applied for sanctioning of houses in the constituency.
