Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh CID has submitted, in a sealed cover containing an interim status report of its ongoing forensic audit relating to the scam-hit AgriGold company to the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday.

After perusing the report, the division bench comprising of Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice S.V. Bhatt commented that the forensic audit by the investigation agency is yet to be completed but it can trace the trail of money if it focuses on the leads obtained so far.

The senior counsel appearing on behalf of Agrigold company, L Ravichander informed the court that the CID authorities were harassing even the family members of directors of the company in the name of investigation.
He cited how midnight raids were being conducted on the residences of the directors. The bench observed that due process of law must be followed while conducting the investigation.

When the Special Government Pleader for Andhra Pradesh Krishna Prakash informed the bench that four of the directors are absconding, the bench suggested that notices under relevant sections of Criminal Procedure Code be issued summoning them to appear before the investigating officer.

The CID Andhra Pradesh has also submitted a list of Agrigold properties that are valued over Rs 50 crore and below Rs 50 crore. The bench had earlier decided that it will directly conduct open auction for properties over Rs 50 crore while there would be a continuous process of online auction for those properties valued below Rs 50 crore.

The bench has directed the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State governments to involve the AP Technology Services and Telangana State Technology Services companies in designing an exclusive online portal for e-auction of the properties.It wanted the Secial Government Pleaders to come out with details on this by the date of next hearing scheduled on April 18.

Similarly in Akshaya Gold case also, the AP CID has submitted a list of properties segregated according to their values. The bench directed the counsels of petitioners and the company to come out with their views on the segregation and posted the matter to April 18.
