Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary K Ramakrishna on Monday demanded a comprehensive probe into the construction of Swarna Bharathi Trust building which was built on government land (sikka land) at Atkuru village near Gannavaram in Krishna district.

Ramakrishna alleged that Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu, who owns the trust, was involved in a quid pro quo deal.CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna spoke to reporters at the state party office Dasari Bhavan here on Monday.
He said that his party would take the issue to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reiterates the zero tolerance towards corruption. “We have records to show that the land on which the construction was made is a government land (sikka land) and the building was constructed by a businessman who is facing CBI charges
It is shame that the Minster who teaches morals and ethics to people is involving in shoddy deals,” the CPI leader said. Referring to truck operators strike, Ramakrishna said the ongoing strike by lorry owners and workers will soon lead to increase in prices of essential commodities.
“Whenever there is obstruction of the movement of goods it will lead to increase in the prices of the essential goods. The Chief Ministers of different States, along with the Central Government should convene a meeting and their genuine problems of truckers should be solved, the CPI leader has suggested.
