Atmakur: District Judge Anupama Chakravarthi asked the Police and Excise departments and advocates to reach an out of court settlement regarding pending cases on April 8 in connection with National Lok Adalat. Reviewing the pending cases with the police,

the Excise officials and advocates in a meeting held at the court here on Monday, she said a special bench would be constituted if the police were ready to solve the cases. The Judge said majority of the cases were theft cases. “There are 30 cases pending under the Excise department.

The court constables should take responsibility of convincing both parties to compromise. This would lessen at least 30 per cent cases,” she added. Atmakur Senior Civil Judge Chinna Babu, Junior Civil Judge Rama Krishna, DSP Vinod Kumar, Excise CI Janiki Ram, Bar Association president Keshava Reddy, the advocates and others participated.
