Vijayawada: Upset by the discontent flared after Cabinet expansion, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned the MLAs and MLCs that he would not spare anyone who cross the line and indulge in indiscipline.

While addressing the party legislators through teleconference on Monday, Naidu said everyone should think about the welfare of the party instead of their personal benefits.

Reacting to the open dissidence from some leaders over denial of berth in Cabinet, he said it was not proper to make public statements which would damage the image of the party.

“I can accommodate only 26 members in the Cabinet. How can everyone get an opportunity at a time? I have to give representation to every district in the Cabinet. The composition of the Cabinet was decided considering various equations. Though some members have the eligibility, but I was not able to accommodate them due to several equations.

Those who didn’t get a chance in the Cabinet need not worry. Their services will be utilised in the coming days in one way or other,” Naidu assured.

He also reminded the party leaders, who stood behind the party in the turbulent days when it was in opposition for 10 years, that all of them had strived and made sacrifices for the sake of the party and no one expressed any discontent when there were only a few posts.

“After coming to power, our priority should be to give good governance and to people and fulfil all the promises we had made to them, but not to strive to meet our selfish ends.

Though I am trying to satisfy majority sections by giving them various positions, it is not proper on the part of some leaders to express dissent,” he said.

It may be recalled that senior leaders like Kagitha Venkata Rao, Gorantla Butchaiah Choudhary, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, Pathivada Narayanaswamy expressed dissent over not getting a Cabinet berth.

Former minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, who was dropped from the Cabinet, openly vented his ire and even reported to have sent his resignation letter to Assembly Speaker.

Another former minister Ravela Kishore Babu too is unhappy over being dropped from the Cabinet. TDP MLAs Dhulipalla Narendra, Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao, Chintamaneni Prabhakar and a few others also expressed their dissatisfaction openly over not getting posts in the Cabinet expansion.
