Amaravati: Information and Public Relations Minister Kalva Srinivasulu said in no uncertain terms that the Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy has no right to criticise TDP in the name of defections.

Speaking to media persons at Velagapudi here on Tuesday, he pointed out that YS Rajasekhara Reddy joined the Congress government in 1978 even though he was elected from Reddy Congress.

“Rajaskehara Reddy continued as minister in the Cabinet of the then Chief Ministers Anjaiah, Bhavanam Venkatram and Vijaya Bhasakar Reddy,” he noted. Srinivasulu wondered how Rajasekhara Reddy was member in the Cabinets even though he was elected from other party. He asked Jagan as why the rule is different to them.

He recalled that Rajasekhara Reddy had encouraged defections from TDP. “MPs Manda Jagannatham and Adikesavulu Naidu voted in favour of Congress in the Parliament,” he said and reminded that YSR was directly involved in the incidents
