Atmakur (Kurnool): ‘Samajika Rayalaseema’ founder Dr D Naganna expressed concern over the lives of the people of Rayalaseema as they had to survive on the surplus water from the Krishna River.

Addressing the participants of the farmers’ hunger strike camp, Seema Satyagraham, at the MRO office here on Monday, he demanded the government to allocate water for Rayalaseema rather than releasing the excess water from the Krishna River. He also demanded construction of a culvert near Sangameswaram thereby ensuring supply of 60 tmcft water to Rayalaseema regularly on standard basis.

He said this would enable 854 ft water in the Srisailam dam. Naganna criticised the Ministers and the MLAs from Rayalaseema region for their disinterest in the pending project works. He called upon people to question the peoples’ representatives by participating in agitations for water. The meeting adopted various resolutions and sent to ‘Rayalaseema
Saguneeti Sadhana Samithi’.
