Eluru: The Three-Town police have taken an employee working at District Superintendent of Police office here into custody on the charges of taking bribe from candidates selected for constable posts recently.

According to police, Kottu Ramakrishna, a senior Accountant in District SP office here telephoned 29 candidates selected for constable (communications) post including Maganti Bala Nagendra of Veeravasaram village. He asked them to bring original certificates, photos, notary attestation and Rs.5,000 Cash to the SP office and meet him on April 3 at the office.

The Constable select candidate Maganti Bala Nagendra complained the matter to Eluru three-town police. City CI N Rajasekhar directed the three-town SI Sagarbabu to register a case in this regard. The police registered a case and took Ramakrishna into their custody.
