Demanding action against the private bus operators, Staff and Workers Federation (SWF) leaders and activists staged a protest at the Collectorate here on Monday. They staged a dharna and raised slogans against the private bus operators.

Earlier, they took out a rally from the RTC Circle to the Collectorate. They submitted a memorandum to District Collector Mutyala Raju to take action against the private bus operators.Speaking to the media here, SWF regional secretary Katta Subrahmanyam alleged that Kesineni Nani and JC Diwakar Reddy were affecting revenues of the APSRTC by operating their services without any prior permits.
Subrahmanyam demanded the state government to take stringent action against the private bus operators, who are running with fake permits in the state. About 3,000 private buses are running with fake permits in the state, he added. CITU leader K Srinivasulu, SWF leaders and others were present.
