The United Kingdom Telugu Association celebrated Ugadi festival in London on Sunday with thousands of Telugus taking part in host of activities. Dr Nanda Kumar, executive director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan attended the celebrations as chief guest while the Member of Parliament for the East Ham, Stephen Timms attended as a special guest.

Ongole: The United Kingdom Telugu Association celebrated Ugadi festival in London on Sunday with thousands of Telugus taking part in host of activities. Dr Nanda Kumar, executive director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan attended the celebrations as chief guest while the Member of Parliament for the East Ham, Stephen Timms attended as a special guest.

Nanda Kumar said that 'UKTA' means the scared voice of Saraswati and it is only for the Indians to celebrate festivals based on the formations of seasons. He said that Ugadi is a representation of starting an era and wished all UKTA members all success in the future.

Stephen Timms, the MP from the most Telugus living area said that he is a member of the Brexit Committee and it is the philosophical approach of India that can give Britain more confidence to face any unexpected things about to unfurl in future. He said that his friendship with a number of Telugus is a booster in personal life.
