City decked up for grand celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the celebrations of Srirama Navami in the city which falls on Wednesday. Several Vaishnavite temples in around the capital city bedecked with flower decorations and special pandals were arranged for conducting the celestial marriage wedding of Lord Rama and Sita.
Srirama Navami to be celebrated today
Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the celebrations of Srirama Navami in the city which falls on Wednesday. Several Vaishnavite temples in around the capital city bedecked with flower decorations and special pandals were arranged for conducting the celestial marriage wedding of Lord Rama and Sita.
A huge pandal has been erected at Sri Ramalayam at Besant Road where for the last several decades the festival is being celebrated on a grand manner. The Ramalayam Committee, which is organising the festival, is making elaborate arrangements in which District Collector, local MLAs and other popular personalities participate every year.
The other Sri Rama temples located at Eluru Road, One Town, Patamata, Vidyadharapuram, Bhavanipuram, Purnandam Peta, Devinagar and Ayodhyanagar are also decorated for the celestial event. Following the summer heat, the organisers of the event are erecting special sheds for the convenience of the devotees, who witness the celestial marriage in large numbers and in some places even coolers are also being arranged.
