It may be recalled that District Collector CH Vijay Mohan proposed development of temple tourism in the district linking various temples and submitted the proposal to the government at the time of Krishna Pushkarams last year. But, the file is yet to be cleared by the government.

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism department hasn’t made any arrangements for boating tour from Sangameswaram to Srisailam. This led to the guest houses and tent houses remain idle. The lone temple of Goddess Saraswati is in Atmakur. The government isn’t making any plans for its development.

Srisailam is the second among the eight tourism circuits in Andhra Pradesh. It is learnt that at least a lakh tourists visit Kurnool district every year. The government gets good income through tourism. But, with the negligence of officials concerned, facilities are not being met. People are pinning high hopes on the new Minister for Tourism.

They are expecting that Akhila Priya would strive for the development of the district’s tourism. Even the officials are expressing hopes that Shilparamams would come up at various places in the district.
