He said that the government has been providing scholarships to 6 lakh SC, ST students besides imparting training in skill development courses. The government has also been extending financial assistance to the SC students going abroad for higher education. Training was being imparted to those who appear for Civil Services examinations.He urged SC, STs to construct toilets and avail facilities provided by the government.

Naidu said that the SC Corporation was sanctioning loans to Dalits to provide self-employment opportunities. He said that the aim of the government was to uplift the poor and reduce economic inequalities. The Chief Minister said education is the weapon to overcome poverty and added that the government is providing balance diet in the SC hostels and developing infrastructure in SC, ST colonies with sub-plan funds.

Naidu pointed out that the government was paying social security pensions every month to 47 lakh people in the state besides implementing ‘Chandranna Bima’ Scheme. He said if an insured person dies in an accident, his family will get an assistance of Rs 5 lakh.Naidu said the government will construct 4 lakh houses in the next two years for the poor and added that the SCs will get more houses.

Drawing inspiration from the lives of Dr B R Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram, he was working for the welfare of Dalits, the CM said. Naidu also said he would give priority to minorities welfare and take measures to improving their living standards.He stated that in spite of resource crunch, the state government was implementing several welfare schemes besides waiving crop loans and loans given to SHGs.

The government is using technology to check corruption in issuing caste, income and residence certificates and clearing building plans through online system. He stressed on the need to render better services to the people. He urged the people's representatives and officials to work with commitment to provide better services to the poor.He regretted that though he was trying to develop the state, some persons were creating hurdles for development.

Naidu sought co-operation of the people for the development of the state. He assured that he will do justice to the AgriGold depositors. Naidu said as more farmers cultivated chillies this year, there has been an fall in price. He assured that he would take measures to see that the farmers secured a better price for their produce.

He will soon hold a review meeting with officials.Earlier, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram statue at market centre.Later, he distributed loans worth Rs 68.70 crore loans through SC Corporation, Rs 453 crore through bank linkage, Rs 150 crore loans for housing beneficiaries and Innova cars to nine beneficiaries. Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu recalled the efforts made by Babu Jagjivan Ram for the welfare of Dalits.

He said that the TDP government spent 101 per cent budget for SCs during the last year besides this the government was implementing land purchase scheme for the welfare of Dalits.SC Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakar requested the Chief Minister to supply drinking water through tankers to ST colonies and meet the expenditure from SC Sub-Plan and ST Sub-Plan.

Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, Excise Minister K Samuel Jawahar, MLAs G V Anjaneyulu, Modugula Venugopala Reddy, MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad and District Collector Kantilal Dande were among those present.
