Addressing a meeting organised by TDP city unit led by its president Dampuri Bhaskar Yadav, Suguna said Jagjivan Ram as social reformer and politician led an inspiring life while his tireless efforts for the uplift of oppressed classes will remain forever.

The TTD officially commemorated Jagjivan Ram birth anniversary. TTD Joint Executive Officer (Tirumala) KS SrinivasaRaju said Jagjivan Ram from a very humble background came up in life with sheer hard work and contributed his mite for the well being of the oppressed classes. BJP leaders including Gundala Gopinath and others paid floral tributes to the statue of Jagjivan Ram on SGS Arts College and recalled the services of Ram for the nation.

Former Congress MP Chinta Mohan also paid floral tribute to Jagjivan Ram statue and recalled his contribution for the welfare of the downtrodden communities and nation development.

Nellore: In-charge Collector A Md Imtiaz said former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram was a visionary and was instrumental in implementing several labour laws. He participated in the 110th birth anniversary celebrations of Jagjivan Ram at Kasturba Kalakshetram on Wednesday.

The JC said working class is getting social security because of Jagjivan Ram’s efforts. Sullurpet MLA K Sanjeevaiah said even though Dr BR Ambedkar planned for welfare of the downtrodden but Babu Jagjivan Ram was instrumental in implementation of such laws.
Now, Dalits are no way inferior to anybody in the community and it was all due to efforts of leaders like Jagjivan Ram. Cheques of Rs 50,000 were distributed under Giri Putrika Kalyana Pathakam to the tribal youth, who got married. They also handed over sanction letters to the beneficiaries of SC Corporation during the programme.

MLC V Narayana Reddy, former MP N Subrahmanyam, Deputy Director of Social Welfare department Madhusudan Rao and others were present. Prior to the programme, Imtiaz, rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy, Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy and others offered tributes to the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram at Vedayapalem Centre here.
