Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) observed Sri Rama Navami Astanam at the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Wednesday evening. Temple priests performed Snapana Tirumanjanam (celestial bath) to processional deities of Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Anjaneya Swamy at Ranganayakula Mandapam inside Srivari Temple in the morning.

Temple priests performed Snapana Tirumanjanam (celestial bath) to processional deities of Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Anjaneya Swamy at Ranganayakula Mandapam inside Srivari Temple in the morning.

The processional deity of Lord Rama was taken on a procession in the four mada streets on Hanumantha Vahanam. Later, the temple priests performed special pujas. Tirumala JEO KS Srinivasa Raju, Deputy EO Rama Rao, Peishkars Ramesh, Ashok and others took part.

Sri Rama Kalyanam was performed in Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tummalagunta on Wednesday. Temple trustee and MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy participated and supervised the arrangements. Pattabhishekam will be held in the temple on Thursday evening.

Sri Rama Navami was celebrated in a grand way at Kodandarama Swamy temple in Tirupati. Lord Rama rode on Hanumantha Vahanam and went in a procession in the four mada streets of the temple. Seetha Rama Kalyanam will be performed in the temple on Thursday evening. People can participate in the Kalyanam by paying Rs 750.

Rama Navami celebrated Kurnool: Devotees offered prayers to Lord Sri Rama and Sita Devi in temples on the occasion Sri Rama Navami on Wednesday. Thousands of pilgrims thronged Sri Ramalayam at Kallur, Kodanda Ramalayam at Veldurti and Chenna Kesava temple at Koilakuntla.

Several temples at different places across the district were seen packed with devotees. The Shiv Sena led by its state organising secretary K Pratap Reddy has organised Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in the district headquarters. Sena activists took out Yatra from the historical Rambotla temple in the city.

The Yatra covered several key circles in the city and arrived at the starting point where the Shiv Sena activists performed special pujas to the Lord Rama and Sita before conducting Kalyanotsavam.
