Chittoor: Newly appointed Industries Minister N Amarnath Reddy assured of discharging his duties without giving scope for any controversies. Speaking to The Hans India over phone, Amarnath Reddy stated that he would follow the instructions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

He said that state would become number one in development among all states under the leadership of the Chief Minister and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. “I will take up developmental works in the district with the active participation of elected representatives and district administration,” he added.

The Minister stressed on the need for strengthening the TDP in the district. He recalled that his father N Ramakrishna Reddy had close association with the TDP from its inception and won as Chittoor MP for thrice and became Punganur MLA for three times. He termed Chandrababu as his political mentor.

He expressed optimism of rising to the expectations of the party high command. To a question, Amarnath Reddy said his immediate priority is to resolve the drinking water problem in the district, especially, western parts. Water from Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanti project would be canalised to Kuppam and Palamaner Assembly constituencies at the earliest, he added.

Amarnath Reddy further said that he would have to review the drinking water situation in Chittoor city while standing instructions were already there to provide drinking water through NTR Jalasayam. He clarified that there are no dissident leaders in the TDP as district party leaders are committed to strengthen the party.

He assured of providing all the support to the district administration for effective implementation of welfare schemes and developmental works. The Minister said that he was not interested to speak about former Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy as the Chief Minister had already convinced him. Bojjala is great asset to the party and his services are needed to the state and the district, he stated.
