Rich tributes paid to Babu Jagjivan Ram:Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao
Minister for Irrigation Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Vijayawada East MLA Gaddda Ramamohan Rao, Mayor K Sreedhar and others paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and former Parliamentarian Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 110 birth anniversary by garlanding his statue at Ramavarappadu Ring Road Junction here on Wednesday.
Vijayawada: Minister for Irrigation Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Vijayawada East MLA Gaddda Ramamohan Rao, Mayor K Sreedhar and others paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and former Parliamentarian Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 110 birth anniversary by garlanding his statue at Ramavarappadu Ring Road Junction here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders recalled the services remdered by him to the nation. Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said Babu Jagjivan Ram was a parliamentarian for 50 years and held very important portfolios in his political career spanning more than 50 years.
He said the departed leader was a freedom fighter and made relentless struggle for the rights of the weaker sections, Dalits and oppressed classes.
