Vijayawada: Representatives of Civil Society Organisations on Thursday demanded that the government pay compensation of Rs 1 crore to P Satyam Babu, who acquitted in the sensational B Pharmacy student Ayesh Meera’s murder case.


All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), Kula Vivaksha Vyatireka Porata Samiti (KVPS), Makineni Basava Poornaiah Vignana Kendram (KBPVK), Sadhana and advocate Pichuka Srinivas hosted a round-table at MBVK Bhavan on Thursday.

KVPS state secretary A Malyadri demanded that the state government pay Rs 1 crore compensation to Satyam Babu for imprisonment for eight years in spite of his non-involvement in the murder. He said that state government should conduct the investigation in Ayesha Meera case basing on the allegations levelled by parents.AIDWA city secretary K Sridevi condemned the illegal arrest and imprisonment of Satyam Babu.

She demanded that compensation of Rs1 crore be paid to Satyam Babu.P Satyam Babu said Ayesh Meera’s parents had supported him in proving himself as an innocent in the murder case. He further stated that the Civil Society Organisations helped him to come out of the prison and begin new life.

He said that his mother P Mariyamma faced so many problems, while he was in prison and she can lead a happy life if the government provides financial assistance. Defence Council and senior advocate Pichuka Srinivas narrated how Satyam Babu was falsely implicated in the case and demanded a fresh probe into the case and arrest the real culprits.
