Police should create confidence by prompt action
“By registering cases promptly, police should create faith in the public especially the victims that they are with them. Women and children constitute a huge number of our society and 90 per cent of crimes on this section were not being reported.

Only 10 per cent of the cases were coming to the records due to social stigma or family prestige”, said the III Additional District Judge CN Narasimha Raju. Whenever a person comes with a complaint, police should first accept it and register the same which can create confidence in them.
He addressed the police personnel in the two day workshop on ‘Approaches to protecting Women and Children – Capacity building & Reflection” organised by Tirupati Urban Police in association with UNICEF in Tirupati on Thursday.Tirupati Urban SP R Jayalakshmi said that, the runaway children are more in Tirupati as it is a pilgrim centre and their task is how to prevent it?
