Cops bust EIGHT-member gang
The Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested an eight -member gang here on Saturday with the help of Ibrahimpatnam police and recovered Rs 1.5 lakh worth gold ornaments, Rs 87,000 cash and Maruti car from their possession. The CCS police said that E Bhavani and G Lakshmi Tirupatamma formed two groups to cheat innocent people in the name of friendship.
Vijayawada: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested an eight -member gang here on Saturday with the help of Ibrahimpatnam police and recovered Rs 1.5 lakh worth gold ornaments, Rs 87,000 cash and Maruti car from their possession.
The CCS police said that E Bhavani and G Lakshmi Tirupatamma formed two groups to cheat innocent people in the name of friendship.
“The two women reside at Ferry area in Kondapalli village and they committed 13 crimes in the city. Bhavani formed a group with Ch Chanti (35), Ch Ankamma Rao (34) and A Durga Rao (40) to rob the people. The modus operandi of Bhavani is to make calls to innocent people and befriend them. Later, she invites them to her home, and the group members would pounce on them upon their arrival and rob them,” CCS police said.
