The entrance exam for the dual engineering degree offered by SV University Engineering College (SVUEC) will be held on May 15, 2017. Speaking to the media at his chambers here on Friday, SVU Vice-Chancellor Prof A Damodaram said that applicants can register for SVU Engineering Entrance Test (SVUEET-2017) by filling an online application from April 12 onwards and the last date is May 9.
Tirupati: The entrance exam for the dual engineering degree offered by SV University Engineering College (SVUEC) will be held on May 15, 2017. Speaking to the media at his chambers here on Friday, SVU Vice-Chancellor Prof A Damodaram said that applicants can register for SVU Engineering Entrance Test (SVUEET-2017) by filling an online application from April 12 onwards and the last date is May 9.

He pointed out that the syllabus and pattern of SVUEET will be same as EAMCET-2017. It will have all the features of regular B.Tech course. The dual engineering degree course is of 6-year duration with 4 years for B Tech and 2 years for M Tech. Students will have an exit option after completing four years, or they can continue M Tech course.
The VC stated that there will be 120 seats each in ECE and CSE branches and 60 seats each in EEE, civil and mechanical branches. Professors, who are teaching for regular B Tech courses, shall teach same subjects for dual degree programme too, he added.
He mentioned that retired faculty members from reputed engineering colleges are also appointed to teach dual degree courses. The course fee is Rs 1.5 lakh per annum for general category students and Rs 1.35 lakh for SC, ST and BC students.
Eligibility for SVUEET is same as EAMCET-2017. Allotment of seats purely based on rank in SVUEET, the VC said.
Damodaram said campus placements will be provided for dual engineering degree courses. The SVU is also offering MSIT (MS in Information Technology) in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) at Pittsburgh, USA which is world number one in IT. The VC stated that BE or BTech passed students are eligible for post graduate course. “100 per cent campus placements for MSIT,” he added. The IIIT and JNTU in Hyderabad are only offering MSIT course, the VC said.
It will have 50 seats for which notification had already released and the last date for receiving applications are May 15.
The VC also said that SVU has secured 42nd rank at national-level in rankings were given under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), while SVU College of Engineering got 4th rank which is the best rank among engineering colleges in the state.
For ICET exam, the VC stated 67,000 applications were received so far and the exam will be held at 140 centres across the state. Registrar Prof M Devarajulu, SVUEC Vice-Principal Prof G Padmanabham and EC member R Guruprasad also present.
