Gooty (Anantapur): Minister for Information and Rural Housing Kalava Srinivasulu was given a rousing reception by supporters, party workers and the general public as he entered the district by car at Gooty, 40 km from here on Friday noon. Tadipatri MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy came with hundreds of supporters in more than 100 vehicles and gave give a tumultuous welcome to the Minister, who arrived in the city for the first time after being sworn in as Minister.

  • Says state govt committed to bring Godavari and Krishna water through the Handri-Neeva to Rayalaseema districts, particularly to Anantapur
  • Promises to strive for the district development on all fronts

After he entered Gooty town by car, he stopped at Bata Sunkalamma Temple and offered prayers. Guntakal MLA Jitender Goud was also present with his supporters to welcome the Minister. Later, addressing people who gathered in large numbers, Srinivasulu said that the state government is making every effort to combat drought in the state on a war footing.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as part of his efforts to fight drought in Rayalaseema had embarked on a mission to link all rivers in the state and divert water to the parched Rayalaseema districts. As an effort in the direction, the Chief Minister linked Godavari and Krishna rivers through Pattiseema project which is part and parcel of Polavaram project.


He said that the government is committed to bring Godavari and Krishna water through the Handri-Neeva project to Rayalaseema districts and particularly to Anantapur district. Srinivasulu promised to strive for the development of the district on all fronts.
