The drowning incident that took place at NTR beach at Suryarao Peta in Kakinada rural on Thursday brought out lack of security measures such as warning boards about depth of sea in the vicinity, or security in the form of posting police or security guards in the area.

According to reliable information in total 21 people (including in the incident of Thursday) died in the area due to lack of warning signals or security lapse in the last three years since 2014. It is said that the pilgrim party from Ravulapalem in Tallarevu Mandal stepped in to sea waters without any knowledge about the area.
Of the nine who stepped in to sea on Thursday Seelam Devi [17] Pitani Srinu35] Pitani Anita [14] drowned and their bodies were traced later on the day. The remaining Pitani Vamsi [14] Pitani Jayakrishna [18] were still found missing even by Friday evening.
The remaining four Pitani Ramya [18], Medisetty Sambasiva Rao[22]and Seelam Srinu [18] who are undergoing treatment in Kakinada government general hospital [ KGGH]said to be fast recovering, however, the condition of the fourth victim Seelam Tanikellamma[40] is said to be serious as she is in a state of shock over the incident on Thursday.
According to Kakinada sub division police officer [SDPO], Suryadevara Venkateswara Rao the marine police, Kakinada rural police and the Coast Guard are still in search of the missing persons. NTR beach said on Friday the the authorities ought to have displayed some sign boards indicating the depth of sea in the particular area, or posted security personal to alert the tourist persons .
