They also took out a huge rally in the town and raised slogans against the state and central governments. Later, Chinta Mohan submitted a memorandum to the Gudur Sub-Collector P Arun Babu. Speaking to the media, Chinta Mohan alleged that central and state governments have deliberately neglecting Dugarajapatnam Port.

He also said that though Dugarajapatnam Port had been mentioned in AP Reorganisation Act, the central and state governments have failed to implement it even after three years.About one lakh youth would get employment with the Dugarajapatnam Port, he added.

He also demanded the central government to construct Dugarajapatnam port without further delay. The central government had failed to recognise the significance of the port, he criticised. He also said that port has been right claim of the local people. In 16th century, imports and export activities were carried out from Dugarajapatnam Port during British regime, explained former MP. Congress leaders Nagaraju, P Venkateswarlu, Chandrasekhar, Ramanaiah and others were present.
