State-level badminton sports meet from April 20
Andhra Badminton League (ABL) chairman TG Bharat said that state-level badminton sports meet will begin on April 20, coinciding with the birthday of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Bharat said that sports meet will conclude on April 26 in Vijayawada.

The ABL chief stated that league competitions are being organised for the first time in Andhra Pradesh. Five teams from different zones were selected to participate in the league games. They are Rayalaseema Warriors from Kurnool, LKSA Prakasam Bulls from Ongole, Amaravati Acers, Godavari Guns from East Godavari and Sundegies Visakha Smashers from Visakhapatnam. Bharat revealed that total project cost is Rs 50 lakh.
In which, Rs 10 lakh is the prize money, auction amount for players is Rs 10 lakh and other expenditure is for venue arrangements, mementos, travel and accommodation for players and officials. Ministers Kollu Ravindra and Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and MLA Gadde Ram Mohan would distribute prizes on the final day, Bharat said.
