In this connection, the collector directed the district medical and health officer Chnadraiah to conduct the survey immediately to assess the gravity and reasons for this disease. He also directed him to supply nutritional support and better medical care as a preventive measure.

With regard to closure of Godavari canals , the collector said that canals in central and eastern divisions would be closed for two months from April 15 and directed the Rural Water Supply (RWS) officials to ensure proper storage of water in tanks in villages and towns and to take up repairs of water sources.On the ban on all types of fishing during breeding period,

he said that this ban would be operational for 61 days from April 15 to June 14 and urged the owners of mechanised and motorised boats to adhere to the orders of the government.Arun Kumar said that Rs 3.72 crore of District Mineral Foundation Trust funds would be utilised for taking up protected water supply schemes in Prathipadu, Eleswaram and Rowthalpudi mandals.


Similarly four ambulances for primary health centres in the district, solar panels and RO (reverse osmosis) plants for health centres, construction of sub centre and additional classrooms in ZP high school at Lampaka Lova village in Prathipadu mandal would be taken up.

He said that grounding of units would be done on a large scale for Dr Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14 at Ambedkar Bhavan, Kakinada and requested the officials of SC Corporation and social welfare department to make necessary arrangements for conducting the programme in a befitting manner.

Organisation of exhibitions, cultural programmes was also suggested by the Collector. Joint collector S Satyanarayana , joint collector-2 J Radar Krishna Murthy, in-charge district revenue officer M Mythoi and others attended the review meeting.
