Eluru: Employees and pensioners rallied from old bus stand to KPDT High School in Ashok Nagar here on Sunday, demanding the government abolish contributory pension system and continue the old pension scheme. Employees led by AP Contributory Pension Scheme Employees Association reached old bus stand and took out a huge rally in the city streets to reach KPDT High School.

In fire station centre, the APCPSEA members formed into a human chain and demanded the government cancel the new CPS system and implement the old scheme. Later, addressing a meeting at KPDT High School, the leaders warned that if the government did not take action in this regard, they would take up Million March on September 1 Amaravathi.

APCPSEA state general Secretary L V Yugandhar, vice-president C.M Das, APJAC leaders Phani Perraju, Krishna Mohan, V Venkate-swara Rao and K Anil Kumar addressed the meeting. They said that after 2004 there were no pensions made and demanded to implement pension rules of 1989 immediately.
