He reached Ranastalam mandal headquarters in Etcherla segment in the district on Sunday night participating in a huge rally from Visakhapatnam airport as part of his maiden visit to the district after getting inducted into the state cabinet as a minister.

Promises to improve power supply to agri sector

Party leaders and cadre extended a warm welcome to him. Addressing a meeting on the occasion, Venkata Rao said that the state government is planning to provide continuous power supply to all sectors including agriculture to make it as a profitable profession.Government is seriously considering linking of rivers Vamsadhara and Nagavali in the district to prevent migrations and to provide water for two crops every year, he explained.

Irrigation projects Vamsadhara and Thotapalli will be completed this year to provide sufficient water for crops even in tail-end areas.He said the TDP government is committed for development of all sectors. As power is vital for development, there are plans to further improve power generation. Government whip Kuna Ravi Kumar, ZP chairperson Ch Dhanalaxmi, MLC K Prathibha Bharathi and TDP district president G Sirisha were among those present.
