Chilli farmers demand MSP of 10,000 quintal
The Chilli farmers in the Prakasam district with the support from the farmer and public organisations demanded minimum support price for their produce. Staging a protest in front of the district collectorate on Monday, they demanded Rs. 10000 as MSP per quintal and purchase the chillies through MARKFED.

They also demanded a compensation of Rs. 40000 per acre for each farmer who lost the crop due to unfavourable conditions in the past three years. The Chilli farmers said that three farmers have already committed suicide in the district due to the lack of MSP for their produce.
They asked for the waiver of interest and rescheduling of farm loans with a convenience of repaying them in coming four years. They demanded the government to implement Fasal Bima Yojana and see each and every farmer gets benefitted through it.
