Vijayawada: YSRCP trade union president and party official spokesperson Dr. P Goutham Reddy said that the new rules and regulations imposed by the AP government would leave the APSRTC workers on roads. He further said that it would lead to huge losses for the APSRTC and it would be left with no option but to privatise the corporation.

Speaking to media persons at the Party office here on Monday, Goutham Reddy said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is taking revenge on the APSTRC workers by implementing new duty timings under the garb 'split duty'. Unlike the regular 8 hours, the new duty time would be split into two portions (7am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 9 pm). The timings would be very inconvenient for workers and those who come from nearby towns and villages.

He said that the hired buses are running on the main routes and RTC buses are presently running between local villages, due to which RTC is incurring a huge loss. The government is mortgaging the lands of RTC to obtain loans and diverting the funds for other activities he alleged.

He said that Kesineni Travels, which was reportedly closed recently, will hire its buses to RTC, which was a game plan of the ruling party. A top level conspiracy was going on in issuing permits to the private fleet owners, he maintained. He further said that some of the fleet owners have formed syndicate to grab the contract for hiring about 100 AC buses which will further push RTC into losses.
