Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who interacted with the engineering graduates from Backward Classes taking coaching under NTR Unnata Vidyadarana Scheme for Group-1 and II, asked each of them to help at least 10 such poor children in pursuing higher education after being selected as Group-1 or II officers.

Sharing her experiences at the Jyothirao Phule Jayanthi celebrations here to which Chief Minister attended on Tuesday, one Rama Devi, a B Tech graduate who recently qualified in the Group-II Prelims, claimed that she has reached this stage with the help of state government. ‘I am from Rajupalem village in Anakapalli mandal and hailed from a very poor family.

My father is a daily wage earner and anyhow, I completed by B Tech degree. Though I aspired for higher education or to appear for competitive exams, I needed financial support which was provided by Chandranna who is the most capable leader’, she said amid a loud applause. Responding to Rama Devi, the CM assured that the TDP Government will take care of the education of BC children and asked them to improve academic skills.

When he asked whether she is interested to appear for All India Services, the latter replied that it would be possible only with the assistance of Naidu.Another B Tech girl Hemalatha of Anandapuram mandal in Vizag district taking coaching for Group-II, informed the CM that her father sells brooms to support their family. With great difficulty, she got through the engineering degree and with the government help, now she is taking coaching. Praising her self-confidence, the CM said that he has introduced the scheme to enable all poor students to fulfill their aspirations.

Another engineering candidate Gaurisankar from Srikakulam district who is the son of a daily labourer told the CM that he has benefited very much from the education scheme. Overjoyed by the candidates’ experiences, the CM asked the candidates to compete in all competitive exams for which the government would lend support.
