Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called upon the delegates at the BRICS meeting to put up a united fight against terrorism which is disturbing peace all over the world and hindering development.

Making terrorism the centre point of his long speech at the meeting of BRICS special envoys on Middle East, here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said terrorism is the worst and biggest enemy of humanity and called upon the global community to speak in one voice against the global menace to put an end to it.

Inaugurating the two-day meeting of BRICS here in the city, Naidu said that there are no boundaries, religions and regions for the terrorism. “People across the globe are suffering due to the terrorism as it is bound to destroy all. The terrorists were utilising technology for their activities,” he noted.

Naidu appealed to all the delegates in the conference to extend more efforts on how to put an end to terrorist activities. He said that the TDP government has been focusing on happiness and welfare of the people in the state in an effort to protect culture, tradition and environment.

“We have introduced Happy Sunday in the state. On every Sunday every one can enjoy happily and prove their talent and spend their time by singing, dancing, playing games for three to four hours,” he told the meeting.

The BRICS delegates will discuss several issues on Middle East during the two day meeting. The envoys include, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and North America and deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov, deputy minister of South Africa Nomaindiya Cathleen Mfeketo, Middle East special envoy of the Peoples' Representative of China Gong Xiaosheng, head of department of Middle East ministry of external affairs Brazil ambassador Lisia Maria Scherer, joint secretary (West Asia and North Africa) ministry of external affairs Dr B Bala Bhaskar, under secretary ministry of external affairs Government of India, Dheeraj Bhaskar and consultant (West Asia and North Africa) ministry of external affairs government of India Shyam Dutt Sharma and others attended the meeting.
